1. Assignment: Reflections on a Flower

Go and buy the most beautiful flower that you can find. Don't simply pick a flowering weed you find in your backyard or buy the half-price, wilting daisy in a supermarket flower section. Spare no expense in acquiring a single stemmed flower as a spiritual altar. Sit comfortably in front of your flower looking at it. Observe your flower every day until it dies. Entitle a new page in your Enlightenment Journal, "The Death of a Flower." Make an Enlightenment Journal entry describing your flower every day until it is dead. Describe the form and energy of your flower. Describe your feelings as you observe it. When it is dead, throw it away. Don't be attached to its form. Its energy will have passed.

2. Assignment: Proof That I'm Psychic

Entitle a new page in your Enlightenment Journal, "Proof That I'm Psychic." Go out to nature. Go to a park or a beach far from people. Go to the most beautiful place in nature that you can reach in about an hour. Spend an hour or so in nature. Write down your thoughts and how you feel. Immediately after spending time in nature, go directly to Ikea, Wal-Mart, Kmart, or a similar discount mega-store. Spend an hour there. Write down your thoughts and how you feel. Don't get involved in shopping. Just observe mind, thoughts, and feelings. If you're psychic you'll notice that in Ikea you have more thoughts and that many of your thoughts are not very bright. On the other hand, in the place of nature far from people, you'll notice that you have far fewer thoughts, and that the thoughts you do have are more positive.
